Engaging Arizona’s diverse and underserved communities through partnerships and sports
For the more then 15 years, current members, partners, and contributors of the Arizona Sports Collective have worked tirelessly in multiple spaces and sectors of our community to make a positive impact through sports.
Since 2015, H+K Multicultural Marketing has been dedicated to helping brands and organizations reach their marketing goals in Arizona’s Multicultural Community by creating unifying relationships, initiatives, and programs through strategic campaigns, brand activation, product placement, and genuine engagement.
Due to COVID-19 and our current state as a society (social, political, and economic) H+K MM understood that an opportunity has arisen to be a leader in the community by solidifying collaboration within all sports minded organizations including: non-profits, for profits, corporates, community resources, and businesses that can become members in our society through sports.

Arizona Sports Collective & H+K Multicultural Marketing Founder
Heber Valenzuela is a proud Hispanic business professional devoted to serving his community through his broad involvement in sports marketing, non-profit organizations, and local entrepreneurship. Valenzuela values the importance of giving back to those in need, and believes that the key to triumph in business rests in proper planning structure, innovation, communication, relationship building, customer service, and passionate labor. Heber has built a great reputation in Arizona as a community servant leader, strategic advisor, entrepreneur, and advocate for multiple human causes. Such success has recently given him the recognition as one of the 12 top Latino leaders in the US by the CoorsLightLideres 2020 national campaign.
Since 2008, Heber has been crucially involved at the national and local level to the success of professional sporting organizations such as Chivas USA, Arizona United SC, and Phoenix Rising FC, while also being a key participant at major events like Copa de Oro, Copa America Centenario, and sporting events in Arizona. "I've been blessed to learn the importance of sports in a child's life personally while I grew up in Mexico, as a professional business man, and a member of my community in Arizona". Heber has been serving major brands and businesses since he formed H+K Multicultural Marketing back in 2015 with tailored marketing campaigns around Soccer, and Multicultural Marketing.
Heber is an alumnus of Phoenix College, having studied General Business, and is currently working toward a master’s degree in Sports Marketing and Sponsorship from the Johan Cruyff Institute in Barcelona, Spain, one of the world’s most renown sports business institutes.
Some of his most impactful work includes serving as a business advisor and marketing instructor at Fuerza Local, a network of over 1,200 local businesses. In cooperation with Fuerza Local, Valenzuela teaches marketing principles to small business owners who may lack access to formal business education. During COVID-19, he started producing webinars teaching small business owners financial literacy and helping them adapt to the challenges of keeping their business going and generating income during the pandemic. More important than the curriculum, Heber serves as a mentor, passing on his belief in the importance of relationships, innovation, and partnerships in the communities they serve.
Beyond his volunteer work with Fuerza Local, Valenzuela serves as a founding member and strategic advisor for Latinos Contra el Cancer, a chapter of the American Cancer Society, which started in Phoenix, and is now branching to New York and Florida. These chapters focus on educating Latinos in cancer prevention and provide information and resource assistance to family members of cancer patients. Heber helps organize fundraising events for Latinos Contra el Cancer, and his efforts recently helped raise a significant amount of funds for cancer resources
Sports have always had a special place in my heart. I began playing organized soccer when I was 6 years old and throughout my life the beautiful game still brings me joy and excitement.
Even through all this joy and excitement, I never considered the possibility that my passion for sports could be translated into a career. It took me 4 years during my Undergraduate studies at Northern Arizona University to discover this, but during this time, I got two bachelor’s degrees in Hospitality Management and Spanish which allowed me to learn so much about other industries. Moreover, my time at NAU also allowed me to study abroad in San Jose, Costa Rica and Salamanca, Spain which are experiences I will never forget.
After graduating I had to commence my next chapter of discovering what the sports business industry is like. I am still in this chapter but in less than two years I have worked diligently and seeked opportunities in different areas of the sports/soccer industry including community relations, social media & video production, operations, marketing, and in equipment management. At this time, I am pursuing a Masters in Business Administration with a Sports Business emphasis at Grand Canyon University
I am also pursuing a post-graduate diploma in Sport Sponsorship from Johan Cruyff Institute. I have had great mentors and met some amazing people who are currently helping me in finding my place in the industry.I am enjoying the process, and I aim to make a difference in the community through sports with H&K Multicultural Marketing/Arizona Sports Collective.
